Dear CMS Collaborator,
At the request of Gigi Rolandi, the Tracker project manager,
I have agreed to hold a Procurement Readiness Review (PRR)
for the Tracker Analogue Optical Links: Tracker_PRR-02
These Electronics Systems Reviews (ESR) and Procurement Readiness Reviews
(PRR) are part of the Guidelines for the management of the CMS experiment.
Venue:
The Tracker_PRR-02 will be held at CERN on 11 May 2001
Starting at 9:00 in 40-RB-10.
The close-out sessions of the Committee will be held at 16.00 on 11 May
in 40-RB-10. It is planned to finish by 18.00.
Scope and Goal of Tracker_PRR-02:
After the successful completion of the full EDR dedicated to the Tracker sub-detector
in general, the scope and goal of the Tracker_PRR-02 are:
Scope:
- Review the electronics, electrical and optical system designs of the Tracker
Analogue Optical link, to verify that the design is sound, is likely to meet
the performance constraints and is compatible with CMS as a whole, the operating
environment and in particular all interfacing systems.
- Review the Project organization, Quality Assurance & Control plan, thermal
aspects, radiation aspects, electronics integration questions, and safety
questions related to Tracker Analogue Optical Links.
Goal:
- Endorse the general scenario for the design, assembly, mounting, and servicing
of the Tracker Analogue Optical Links,
- Approve the procurement of the Tracker Analogue Optical Links.
Link person:
Gigi Rolandi has nominated Francois
Vasey as the Linkperson for this PRR (LP_PRR). Francois will be in charge
of the organization, of the timely distribution of documents, and of collecting
and distributing the proceedings.
Committee:
As CMS ESC I will chair the Review Committee. The following persons have agreed
to be members of the Review Committee:
Members of CMS:
- Austin Ball, Deputy Technical Coordinator, CERN
- Paolo Cannarsa, Quality Assurance Coordinator, ETHZ
- Gerard Faber, CMS Integration Coordinator, CERN
- Mika Huhtinen, CMS Radiation Coordinator, CERN
- Ron Pintus, CMS Services Coordinator, CERN
- Reiner Schmidt, GLIMOS, CERN
- Peter Sharp, Electronics Systems Coordinator, CERN, (Chairman)
Non members of CMS:
- Emilio Petrolo, Atlas, INFN Rome
- Mark Pearce, Atlas, KTH Stockholm
- Steve Quinton RAL
- Fritz Szoncso Deputy TIS Link to LHC Experiments, CERN
Agenda:
The first provisional agenda will be distributed later.
Documentation:
Documents shall be distributed to the Review Committee two weeks in advance.
Copies of transparencies will be collected and distributed as CMS report, through
the CMS Secretariat, by the LP_PRR.
Report:
The outcome of the Tracker_PRR-02 shall be summarized in a report written by
the reviewers and signed by the ESC. This report will be distributed to members
of the Steering Committee (SC), Management Board (MB), and LHCC Referees. The
report will summarize the findings of the Tracker_PRR-02 and in particular it
will stress if some items have to be revisited, and by whom and in which time
span, before the final green light is to be given.
Attendance:
The Tracker_PRR-02 is open to all CMS Collaborators and CMS Referees on simple
request by email to the LP_PRR.
If the request for attendance exceeds the capacity of the retained room, then
invitations will be selected by the CMS Electronics Systems Coordinator in connection
with the Tracker Project Manager, and forwarded by the LP_PRR.
